SMALL HAND PAINTED DOOR
This beautiful and majestic vintage small hand painted door originates from Gujarat. With it’s exquisite painted panels, full of character, original colour paint and detail, this extraordinary item of furniture exudes place, culture, people and history.
Visual Description
This symmetrically designed door is set within a mainly red frame. Artisans have painted a decorative design onto the frame, and the central finishing strip has a mix of colours, patterns and carving within it. There are 12 painted panels within the door, each with an Indian mans faced bordered with petals, giving this door a unique and interesting look. On two of the panels there is a large handle instead of the face. The paintwork is flaking and shabby in places, showing signs of its past life.
